In the Sky

In the Sky

I’m a night owl. Almost an all night night owl. Lately it’s been about 5 am before I get to bed. I’d rather be getting up at that hour, but even with enough sleep, my body doesn’t like to get up that early. Well, actually the body doesn’t like to leave dreamworld any time, but that’s a different subject. Some of the things I love about the night are the peace and quiet, the train whistle, the cool and fragrance…

Plodding Along

Plodding Along

Or trudging. The meanings are very close. It’s winter. I may not have the kind of deep snow I grew up with in winter, but mentally for me, it’s still the same. Most of my plodding the past couple of weeks has been in getting the machine embroidery files cleaned up. I get so distracted, though. It’s rather tedious work, but I need to see the file, so I have to use large (sometimes extra large) icon mode. That’s a…

High on Sharpies

High on Sharpies

Not sniffing high, though if I work too long that might happen, too. In this case high=happy. I have an old oriental carpet in my living room. Very old. It has patched areas. The fringe is gone from the ends. And it is very worn in spots. In those worn spots the warp thread shows through. It’s white. The wool is mostly red with other relatively dark colors. The light colors are not white — light blue, creamy beige and…

February Week 1

February Week 1

I forgot to take a picture on Wednesday. They’re not too crisp because they are taken across the room at full magnification and the HD seems to turn off and on at random. (It seems to be on on Monday’s shot.) It should be raining. I prefer the sunny days we’ve been having, but we are technically still in a drought, apparently. This ragged little plant is one of my Bergenia. They bloomed in December. A few days of freezing…

UFOs: Part 1

UFOs: Part 1

I have a lot of UFOs. Probably enough to be considered alien. I’m listing them here as much to have a record as to share. This group is all out of my sewing basket. I discovered if I did all my photo editing on my phone, my photos retain their dimensions at halt the size they become when I open then in Irfanview or GIMP (my photo programs) and I can upload them here with no problems. Editing is limited…

Links for large gifs

Facebook is the only site that let me upload my gifs, but their sharing options are limited. I’ve made the gif public, so, if interested, you should be able to see them here: Faith Junaid | Facebook https://www.facebook.com/faith.junaid/

Weird Problems

Weird Problems

If only these were the worst problems people had. Since sometime in the summer or fall of 2020 airynothing.net* has been giving me problems with images. I’ve been back and forth with the web hosts about it. They are working on it, but with covid, everything goes more slowly. Today I wanted to upload an image to show what I’ve been doing, but since it’s a huge animated gif, I knew I couldn’t upload it directly to wp. I went…

Just Playing Again

Just Playing Again

Sometimes/always there are other things I could/should be doing, but my inner two-year-old takes over and apparently has no adult supervision. I managed to dry one load of clothes (washed the previous day), but I made a lot of kaleidoscope designs. This started out as an abstract bird design. I deleted the background color, then used painting/color abstract paint/comic book (and other) filters (each separate) modes with two of the above (various combinations) sharpen filter symmetry kaleidoscope filter (10 divisions)…

Goodbye, 2021

Goodbye, 2021

Alex came home on the 19th. I don’t get on the computer much when he’s here. We didn’t do much other than enjoy being together. Of course, we did watch a lot of movies and a TV series or two. Baahubali was a two-part movie (about 2 1/2 hours each). It’s an Indian mythic story and was a lot of fun to watch. Hausu (House) was, as IMDB put it, “the most bizarre Haunted House movie I’ve ever seen.” Andhadhun is another…
