Christmas?

Christmas?

Well, yes. If I want to make anything, I need to get started. I saw this cute box design (Just the black and white. Color design added because, although I have the right to use this design, I don’t have to right to give it to anyone.) at DesignBundles and wondered if it would make a decent stitched box. I grayed out the side flaps because I’ll be stitching, not gluing, those edges. The flaps on the lid remain so…

Iqbal’s Blanket

Iqbal’s Blanket

It started out as a Big Cloth à la Spirit Cloth. It’s still inspired a bit by Jude’s style of stitching, but is ending up a lot less freestyle stitching. This is partly because it’s being made to Iqbal’s wishes, since it’s for him and partly because I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m learning, though. So, it’s partly traditional and just a wee bit free spirit. I finally got it pieced last month. Piecing before embellishing is one of…

Random Bits

Random Bits

Digitizing I’ve had laundry basket labels on my to-do list for some time. With a label, Iqbal will know which basket to put things in when he does that chore and I won’t end up shrinking or bleaching something if I forget to double check before putting them in the machine. I started working on them last spring, but interruptions and distractions kept me from finishing. At first I did them too big. When I stitched one out, I didn’t…

While Away

While Away

I never do as much of what I want to do as I think I will, though. My sister moved in with us temporarily while she looked for and found her new home. She will probably be here another month, waiting for closing and then new flooring and painting before she…

… ‘Cause life keeps getting me behinder. The fires got close to Salem on September 7, 2020. My granddaughters and their parents are all safe, but their house is gone. Fortunately they have a house in Portland. Air quality since the 7th has been moderate to hazardous and I guess it will remain at the latter for a while, unless we get rain. Obviously, with hazardous air, I didn’t get restarted on walking in the park. My knee therapy was…

Slow, But Sure

Slow, But Sure

Well, maybe. Definitely slow, for sure. I’m so slow at doing anything. “Slower than molasses in January” doesn’t begin to cover it. Part of it is that sitting in anything but the recliner is really hard on my back after about 30 minutes. I hate that. Mentally I’m ready and rarin’ to go. Physically, I’m falling apart. That’s so weird, because I’m actually very healthy. Another part would be that I’m a procrastinator. I have always been a procrastinator. Every…
