Friday, Already? Again?

Today has been another day I didn’t do what I intended to do. Actually, that’s pretty normal for me. I was going to sand my benches. Instead, we picked pears. Whatever is left on the tree is for the birds… or squirrels. Or the bugs, particularly when they fall to the ground. We don’t poison our tree, so the fruit is always iffy. We eat up the best ones and dry (or maybe freeze, this year) the rest after cutting…

Green Spring

I looked around the garden today. The vegetable garden, which lay fallow last year, has been taken over primarily by wild geranium, secondarily by what I think is hairy bittercress, with a dandelion or two and some grasses. What looks like a mess at the bottom of this photo is the tops of the blueberry bushes outside the vegetable garden. I think I’m going to let the weeds grow in the paths (keep them mowed) and I’ll weed the beds…
