Sunset Search

“Hunt” may have been a better word choice, but I like the alliteration “Search” provides. The owl was done using Jude‘s skatching* method. Since I’m not great at drawing, I traced the outline of an owl onto the base cloth. The pencils I had on hand were colored art pencils. They are weird in that they faded away. Whatever color I chose. Except where I tried to erase. That I had to wash away with a damp (almost wet) cloth….

So…. at 3:30 am on February 13 the ice storm in progress at the time took out our power. Half the city’s, I think. My brother and sister-in-law have had their move to Oregon baptized in fire and ice, not to mention not being able to get out and meet new people because of covid. That pretty much sums up everything for me. Last week I finished the fourth row of Iqbal’s quilt. This is a pretty crap photo, but I have no clothesline outside on which to hang them, and this is my design “wall” –sort of. Eventually it will be something hanging there on which to pin things.
