I’m trying to put everything I want to get done in December (obviously some more than once) on this list. Hopefully, I’ll get here and keep track. At the end of December I’ll make a new list. Hopefully, I’ll have more creative stuff on that list. There is some creativity in Christmas gifts and decorations. but obviously I can’t show the gifts until after the 25th. Not that I actually believe anyone on my list reads my blog, but they might.
Last Christmas I informed everyone that I will be making special gifts for everyone, but probably only one each year (or two, to be honest). I’m way too disorganized to manage everyone every year. I’m (they’re?) lucky I get anything done for anyone I don’t actually see on Christmas day. They end up getting “Happy Everything” gifts whenever I manage to complete something. My BFF liked hers last year. It’s not that I don’t love and often think of family and friends. I just have no executive function to keep me on track. I thought that Adderall would help. It does, but I have to be able to get it and apparently it’s in short supply. I’m still waiting for my October Rx!! I got some OTC brain supplement. I figured anything was better than nothing, but honestly, I don’t see any improvement.
I’m sure part of that is going from 50%+ help to 0% help with everything that needs to be done. Well, maybe it’s about 10%. I certainly don’t blame Iqbal. The sepsis wiped him out and literally nearly killed him, and the stomach cancer makes it hard for him to eat enough, which is what he needs to do to regain any strength–especially with the chemo medicine, even though it’s the mildest there is, apparently. On good days he gets the bills paid, puts away some clean clothes and sets and clears the table.
Iqbal is a cat! He doesn’t like cats, but that’s also true of many felines. (Oddly kitties often like him, despite him trying to shoo them away.) He doesn’t hate them, just doesn’t like them. He sleeps 16+ hours a day! (Good for healing, according to the doctor.) Much, but not most, of that sleep is napping. And now he has taken up humming/moaning/growling a lot of the time. I’m not sure which of the three it is supposed to be, but he’s also unaware he’s doing it most of the time. I finally decided and told him that it’s his equivalent to a healing purr. It’s close to a purr tone, or an Om tone, so what else could it be? When I ask, he’s not in any pain, and it’s nothing like the sounds he makes when his stomach in in immediate distress, which are usually verbal. So, he’s a cat. A grumpy cat! And like the original Grumpy Cat, he’s really a sweetie.
Well, that hour went by fast! So much for a 15 minute break.
Back to work.
