Spring All Winter?

Spring All Winter?

The first year I was in Oregon it was much warmer through February than it has been this year. Then the rains came in March and stayed until July. I didn’t yet have a garden then, so I’m not really sure what was blooming in January. I do know that this is the first time since I have had a garden that I’ve had roses blooming in January. It hasn’t been quite as warm as it was in 2005, but it must be close. I have no idea when I should be cutting back things that I’d normally cut when they’re dormant, ’cause nothing is, or has been dormant this fall/winter.

Oh, well. It is nice to have roses in January.

Pink & Yellow Rose — I darkened the background since it was so busy
Fairy Rose — hasn’t stopped blooming since it recovered being transplanted in the heat. (Sorry the flower didn’t focus as well as the leaves. 🤨)

This is what most of my daffodils look like. .
