Elfin Princess

Little elfin princess
ensconced among the trees,
tears like rain are falling
and dripping on her knees

Her sword of light, now lead.
Her head, once proud, now low.
All of her demeanor
has lost its elfin glow.

Facing all her demons,
she found no strength to fight.
"Friend" had sent them to her,
a work of cruelest spite.

The effort of this blow
would bring him no real gain.
And though she sought to find it,
no sense could she obtain

Tears like rain are falling
and dripping on her knees.
Little elfin princess
ensconced among the trees.
