I Found Peace

Once I thought that if I loved
a special someone, life would be
happy ever after. Time
taught me that my heart had room
for many and still the road is rough.

On occasion I think that there is
some thing I need.
On having it, I find I don't.

By my nature I turn to solitude,
run away from noise,
stress, pressures,
then find I need,
to touch life and be touched
or shrivel into nothingness.

Ultimately, I found it
or rather, it found me,
in a torn and broken body,
a soul rent from its heart, crying
"Why have you deserted me?"
and then "It is finished."
All for me, for love.
I found Peace.
