Octobers Lie

Octobers lie
with blue skies on sunny days.
Octobers lie
with easy laughter and fun and games.
Red and orange and gold
is only half the story told.
Promises made by October
cannot be kept.
Octobers don't tell
of cold and biting winds.
Octobers don't remind us
of bleak browns and grays.
Octobers lie.
