Fall

Her brown face is held high
in the golden light
with salt tainted crystal
rivers flowing down.

Red-blooded and alive,
she does not slumber,
but faces what must come.
A chill wind precedes

Evil intent. She stands
among the yellow
haired men who would buy her --
property of none!

In a twinkling her life
becomes another's.
Her spirit's now hidden,
but never is lost.
