Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
  • 1½ cups flour
  • ¼ tsp. soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ butter, marjarine or butter Crisco
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • ½ peanut butter (I like crunchy)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions: Sift flour, soda and salt together. Cream butter and sugars until well blended but not fluffy. Add egg, peanut butter, vanilla and chocolate chips. Add flour mixture until well blended

Drop by spoonful about 1 inch apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet and press lightly. Bake at 350ºF. for 12 to 15 minutes.

Tips
  • For a less pourous cookie, roll the dough into a ball before placing onto cookie sheet and pressing.
  • With crunchy peanut butter and chocolate chips, you can't make the traditional criss cross by pressing with a fork.
  • For cookies about 1 to 1½ inches across, a melon scoop grabs the right amount of dough.
