ooooh, must try! I’m going to link to this from my blog so I’ll remember, once my online classes are over. I’ve been taking a break from GIMP, but that’s OK, I know I’ll be back. I hadn’t thought of using polar coordinates on mosaics, gotta add that to my To Do list! :-)

Hey, there, Faith,

I gave this image from your Photobucket site a thumbs up on facebook and an artist friend of mine said “fractals” and I said, oh, yeah. So it was great to see your post so I could tell him,
“yes, indeed, fractals". And I too play with GIMP to reduce stress, it really helps. :-) I just bought a book on fractals, gotta go play with it soon.

I love it all! But especially the web effect in the first images and all the wonderful color shade experiments with the bottles. I get fascinated by color too, and just keep making new variations, going “ooooohhh” and then making a new one.
I also love your Gfig images; I’ve never played with that and now I see that I must! Keep GIMPing, it’s a way of life! :-)

Lovely - your last image looks like a shoal of fish. I also particularly like the orange/brown version.

This is just so interesting and yet another facet of this wonderful programme. There is so much to learn. You are very good at applying the methods.

Those butterflies are fantastic. Before I read down in the text enough to realize it was an animated image I saw them change color out of the corner of my eyes and was about to prescribe myself no more internet until my eyes stopped playing tricks on me! I also love the deep-set cat eyes. They remind me of Greek statues where the eyes appear to be inset and liquid in the center because of the optical illusion caused by the iris being lower than the rest of the eye.

These trees are stunning - any one of them would make a fantastic textile piece. (
My particular favourite is the first one with the orange background).

As my kids would say, NOM! (as in, good enough to eat). Those variations are addicting, aren’t they. I think the more of them we do, the more we internalize the processes.
