Stitch 17 : Crossed buttonhole

This is a stitch I really need to work on more. To use more.

Same photo as last time. This time we're looking at the green and white lines under the wheatear stitch.

This is just a doodle cloth, but for a minute, I thought I might try to make it a scene by putting in a fence behind (!) the wheat. If I had planned ahead, I would have done the fence first. Oh, well.  I used two rows of crossed buttonhole. One fingers up and the other offset, fingers down.  I also did some weaving of the fingers, so that the upper row was not all on the surface of the lower row. This was done in perle 5.
