TAST Update (Stitches 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9)

TAST Update (Stitches 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9)

I have not been neglecting TAST.

I wish I were more organized about both doing and posting, but wishes don't accomplish much. The picture looks more our of shape than is actually is. My camera needs a new battery (which I don't have right now) and the phone pic was horrible, so this is a scan,

Not being organized, I have been very random about TAST this time around. You'll probably need to click on some of the photos to see specific stitches. This piece includes TAST stitches 5-10

TAST 5 - Herringbone Stitch

This is the row against the chain. It's three layers. The bottom layer is green perle 8 herringbone stitch. The middle layer is cream perle 12 herringbone/Cretan stitch. The top layer is a single strand of lavender rayon floss herringbone stitch.

TAST  6 - Chevron Stitch

My border is done in this stitch with a green novelty knitting yarn.  It's very silky and has the glitter thread entwined in it.

TAST 7 - Detached Chain Stitch

This stitch is also in the border. I used a perle 5 in light yellow. There are put in the openings of a combination Cretan/chevron stitch. It's one on one side in a light green craft thread and on the other three sides with a perle 8 in a slightly darker green. I don't remember why, but I didn't like the craft thread for this. It chevron half of this has a glass bead (no idea what size) on the cross bar.

TAST Stitch 8 - Chain Stitch

I did five random lines of chain stitch. The red, variegated red and dark green are in perle 8. the light green and the lavender are in perle 5.

TAST Stitch 9 - Couching and TAST Stitch 10 - Running stitch

This pink scrap of silk and some tulle is couched on with a running stitch following the design woven into the fabric. The tulle is further couched on with and over French knots

I intend to do more of both these stitches on this piece. Before I consider it finished, it will be heavily encrusted.
