Another Toy!

In my quest to create with GIMP, I was looking for online art sites akin to Make Your Own Kaleidoscope! OH, did I find a doozie! Instead of going back to my TAST sampler or one of my WIPs I spent the entire evening at www.mutapic.com/Mutapic_01.swf.   I have over 200 new pictures. I don't know what I'll use them all for. Maybe for more digital images.

The free version uses the included libray of starting images. The pro version would alllow me to upload my own starting images. However,I can't seem to find enough info about buying this program, since I get a 404 on one link. When I looked at the other Info page, it tells about the program, but not where to get it or how much. When I have some money to spend, I'll write to the guy and ask him about it.

Even with the free onlne version, there is a lot! There are so many variables that the resulting images are probably in the hundreds, if not more. (It's been a while since I even tried to figure out something like that!) Basically it does in a click what I oftem spend hours doing in GIMP... using modes and filters. It produces 16 pictures at once, too! One of the things I like is that by looking at the settings and the outcome, I have actually learned a bit.

Rather than try to explain, I'll just show some of my favorite pictures that came out of this program.

This is a HUGE file, so be patient as it loads. It has over 200 pictures in it.

If you're reading this as a cross post, you may have to come to the original post to see it.

These are sweet! I tried that site on my rather old computer and didn’t get much of anywhere. I’ll have to try at lunchtime at work (and will have another excuse not to go walking as I should!).
